Overview

Our training is tailored to meet the needs of each individual candidate and/or client.
Our Security Services are fully compliant with the AQTF (Australian Quality Training Framework) Standards and by using a combination of both Curriculum and On-the-Job, competency based training the candidate is assured a quality experience.
This qualification reflects the role of a security officer, responsible for maintaining safety and security by patrolling, protecting or guarding property while unarmed, and screening entry, monitoring behaviour and removing persons from premises.
Upon successful completion of the units of competency, you will receive a Nationally Recognised Qualification (CII Security Operations) with Provide First Aid and you will have the ability to apply for your unrestricted Unarmed QLD Security Officer Licence.

Pathways into the qualification
Individuals may enter CPP20218 – Certificate II in Security Operations with limited or no vocational experience and without a relevant lower level qualification.

QLD Licencing Requirements
GENERAL SUITABILITY CRITERIA
To be eligible for a QLD unarmed security officer licence, you must meet suitability criteria required by security industry legislation. These fall into two main categories:
- General;
- Criminal and Other Related History;
- Provide fingerprints
GENERAL SUITABILITY CRITERIA:
If you wish to be granted a QLD security licence, you must:
- be 18 years of age or over;
- not pose a risk to public safety;
- have successfully completed any required training and assessment;
- be competent to carry on the security activity to which the proposed licence relates;
- be an Australian/New Zealand citizen or permanent Australian resident or hold a visa that entitles you to work in Australia (other than a student or working holiday visa);
- When you lodge the form, you will need to attach 100 points of formal identification. These documents must be either original (if lodged at the counter) or certified copies.
FINGERPRINTING
By law, the police need to fingerprint all security providers. We will contact you after you lodge your application form to explain what you need to do.
CRIMINAL AND OTHER RELATED HISTORY
You are not eligible to be granted a QLD security licence if you have:
- within the previous 10 years, been convicted of a disqualifying offence in the past 10 years, where a conviction was recorded;
You must also tell us if you have been found guilty of a disqualifying offence in the past five years, where a conviction was not recorded (this is known as an ‘unrecorded finding of guilt’). We may ask you for further information so we can assess if you are a suitable person to hold a licence
To confirm your suitability, we will submit your application for a criminal history check. This will be thorough and may be time consuming.
If you were born in New Zealand or have a New Zealand passport, you need to get a copy of your criminal history or a letter indicating you have no criminal history from New Zealand. For more information, visit the New Zealand Ministry of Justice website.

With Five Star Training Academy (RTO No. 31996), we GUARANTEE that there are no hidden costs for anything associated with completing this course.
Option 1: Class 1 (without First Aid) – $1,300
Option 2: Class 1 with First Aid – $1,400
Option 3: Class 1 with First Aid – Certificate 3 Guarantee Funding*
Concessional - $20
Non-Concessional - $20
(A contribution to the cost of training and assessment services — called a co-contribution fee — must be made by students undertaking a certificate III level vocational qualification and non-concessional students undertaking certificate I and/or II level vocational qualifications.)
* Queensland individuals maybe eligible to receive Queensland Government subsidised training under the Certificate 3 Guarantee program.
